WINTER Movies  
Doors open 30 minutes before Showtime. Kids under 17 are not permitted at R-rated films unless accompanied by an adult. The cost of rental and licensing fees are taken care of by the Friends of the Library. The Friends also sponsor our popular Arts Alive Concert Series.

Holiday Cookies

Decorating holiday cookies for your family and friends can be fun and educational because what you learn may easily become a tradition to pass down to your kids and grandchildren. Pastry chef Anna Davis will demonstrate how to make cookies look beautiful and taste delicious. This is a hands-on class and you will go home with your own creation, unless you eat it right here.
Class is limited to 40 participants. Register early!

Holiday Centerpiece
Wednesday, December 10
6:30 p.m.

Create a holiday centerpiece complete with fragrant greenery, red berries and a candle. Peggy Garvin is always a pleasure to welcome here for this annual holiday workshop.
Class is limited to 26 people with a $15 supply fee for each person.
All you need to bring is a pair of strong scissors or pruners.

Arts Alive Concert: Christmas in the City
Chicago Bronze

Chicago Bronze is a talented English hand bell ensemble from the northwest suburbs. They are proud of their first recording, Christmas in the City, and will perform it live for us at the library this year. Come, join us for the music, festive punch, and getting into the holiday spirit.

Lifestories: Creating a Memoir

The last time pianist George Radosavljevic performed at our library you could hear a pin drop as the audience listened and almost forgot to breathe! We are happy to welcome him back on a cold winter afternoon to warm up our hearts with works by Beethoven, Chopin, Ravel, and Liszt. George has appeared with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series and can be heard frequently on WFMT radio.

Creative Writing
Do you like to write? Join this creative writing support group! Meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the library’s Board Room.

Computer Classes
Trained librarians conduct small hands-on classes in the computer lab on how to use the Internet and online databases. Register at the Welcome Desk if you would like to attend a class.

Book Clubs
The Library's Readers' Advisory Team leads three discussion groups, open for the public.  If you would like to join one, please stop by at the Readers Services Desk. Check out our Good Reads!
