- Great Reads: Grab a copy of your summer reading book, then find a cozy spot in our reading area or take it home. We have books for Rolling Meadows and Fremd High Schools.
- Creative Flow: Our Art Cart will be front and center this summer! Feeling creative? Use markers and colored pencils with our adult coloring books or blank paper to make something awesome.
- Elite Skills: Drop in anytime and explore our large collection of games! Play at the library or check them out to play at home. Master your skills or learn some new ones!
Dog Days of Summer: Paws-itive Hangout
Ages All Ages & Families
Details Celebrate the dog days of summer with some friendly four-legged visitors! Stop by to relax, say hello, and enjoy spending time with calm and attentive therapy dogs. Whether you want to give some pats, snap a photo, or simply hang out, it’s sure to be a paws-itively good time. All ages are welcome. Our canine companions come from the Masonic Association of Service and Therapy Dogs (MAST), and they’re always happy to make new friends.

Details Bring a little joy to your day with the art of rock painting. We’ll provide an assortment of acrylic markers for you to personalize your unique rock with a cheerful image, inspiring word, or uplifting phrase. All supplies will be provided.

Trivia Under the Stars
Details Tap into your knowledge of music and movie trivia while enjoying the fresh air. Bring your own chair and join us on the library’s east lawn. Earn candy and popcorn as prizes. Trivia will be held indoors if the weather is inclement.
Reading Challenges
Get ready to read and win. Reading challenges are open to readers in 9th grade and up. Any reader from PreK to 8th grade can join Youth Reading Challenges.

Teen Craft Kits
New seasonal craft kits are available every month for Rolling Meadows residents ages 13+. Pick up at the Readers Services Desk beginning the first of every month.
The crafts can be enjoyed at home or in the library using supplies from the Art Cart. You’ll find directions, resources, and basic materials in each kit. Advanced crafters are encouraged to use materials they have at home to take them even further.
